RECOMMENDED OPERATING SYSTEM For Transactor (single pc): Windows XP, Windows Vista 32-bit or Windows 7 32-bit (with the program's icon set to 'Run as Administrator') For Networked Transactor Multi-user: Windows XP Professional or Windows Server 2000/3. Windows Vista and Windows 7 are supported if a Windows XP virtual machine is available (consult with your IT technician). Windows 7 Professional can run Microsoft's XP Mode. You may also be able to use Remote Access. If you are not sure what version of Windows your computer is running, please check What version of Windows do I have? The current version of Transactor (v6) will not run directly on the new 64 bit operating systems, however there are workaround solutions. See Running Transactor on 64-bit Windows REMOTE ACCESS If your main Transactor installation is installed and works on your main PC you can run Transactor remotely, over the internet, or internal network, from any PC regardless of location, operating system or computer type. Ask your IT support technician. Examples of remote access technologies include www.LogMeIn.com, www.GoToMyPc.co.uk , or Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Connection.

COMMON QUESTIONS Will a future version of Transactor work directly on a 64bit pc? Yes. Transactor v7 will be 32 and 64-bit compatible. Computers with Home Premium instead of Professional are cheaper, can i choose that? Yes, if it is not the 64-bit version, and you don't intend to expand to a multi-user network. If you have already bought a 64-bit Operating System and it is Windows 7 Professional you can ask your supplier to install Microsoft's 'XP MODE'. Alternatively ask your IT supplier to downgrade your PC to a 32-bit Operating system. Can I use an Apple Mac? You can either use the Remote Access Solution mentioned above, or there are other solutions in the article 'I have an Apple Mac' | |
