SUMMARY If you have a 64-bit edition of Windows, Transactor 6 will not install directly, please ask your IT support technician to reconfigure the PC with "32-bit Windows" or "Windows XP Mode". CONTENT Version 6 of Transactor does not run on 64-bit editions of Windows, however version 7 will be fully compatible. There are a number of work-arounds highlighted below. If you are not sure which version of Windows you are running, you can check by following the instructions in the article What version of Windows do I have?
You may need the assistance of an IT technician for all of the work-arounds listed above. Transactor 7 will be fully compatible with Windows 7, 32 and 64 bit (see When will Transactor 7 be released?) however there is no need to wait to purchase version 6 as purchases after 1st Aug 2011 include a free upgrade to Transactor 7.
If, due to 64-bit incompatibility issues, you decide to purchase a new PC in order to allow Transactor to run, we recommend contacting Get Support IT Services. They can provide competitively priced Dell desktops and laptops with Transactor trial pre-installed, and offer a 14 day money back guarantee. We are pleased to be able to offer a genuine £100 off the price of a Transactor purchase if you have purchased your PC through Get Support IT Services due to 64-bit issues. To claim your discount, contact the Transactor Helpdesk, mentioning your Get Support order reference, and we will forward you a coupon code with which you can claim your £100 discount on Transactor.
